Where are you located?
Yant Studio currently has two locations: Forest Hills and Chelsea. Our Forest Hills location is on the 2nd Floor of 71-51 Austin Street, Forest Hills, NY 11375.
As for our Chelsea location, our studio is located at 151 W19th Street, suite 1102, New York, NY 10011.
What are the steps in getting a tattoo?
Before getting a tattoo from one of our artists, here are some of our suggestions:
Step 1: Review the profiles of our artists and decide whom you would like to work with.
Step 2: Fill out the appointment form to request a consultation with the artist of your choice. If you are undecided on an artist, the studio will make a suggestion based on the information provided to pair you with the best suitable artist for the project.
Step 3: After your consultation session, should you decide to move forward and book an appointment, you will be required to make at least $100 deposit to secure a date for your tattoo session. The deposit is deducted from the final cost of the tattoo.
Step 4: Be well rested for your appointment. Do not come into your appointment if you're under the influence of alcohol or any other substances of the like. Please arrive no more than 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
How do I book an appointment?
Due to COVID-19, Yant Studio will operate by appointment only in order to fully comply with the CDC and New York State and City guidelines. This is to ensure everyone is safe and can maintain proper social distancing. To schedule a consultation or session, please fill out the “request appointment” form. We will get back to you as soon as possible. Please allow up to a week for a response.
Is a consultation appointment required?
A consultation session is recommended before all tattoo sessions, especially for first time clients. During the consultation, the client will be able to discuss their concept and receive an estimate on the final price of the tattoo.
How much will the tattoo cost?
Yant Studio has a $200 minimum. The final price is based on size, design complexity and the artist’s hourly rate. Artists will be able to give you an estimated price during the consultation period and before your session starts, as well as answer any other questions you may have.
How do I choose my artist?
Yant Studio is fortunate to have many talented artists who specialized in various tattooing styles. Check out our artists’ portfolios on the “artists page” to get a better idea of a particular artist’s style. You can also check out Yant Studio’s Instagram or just contact us for a recommendation.
What is the cancellation policy?
All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
This deposit will go towards the final price of your tattoo. It can be credited to a future date if you decide to reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment.
An appointment can be rescheduled once and no later than 3 months after the initial deposit is made.
If the appointment is not rescheduled by then, the deposit will be forfeited.
You are welcome to change your design while in the planning process. However, any serious changes that would require drastic reworking of the original concept and one that would consume additional time once the tattoo has been finalized will require an additional deposit of $100
Do you do finger and/or Face tattoos?
Generally yes, we take finger, face, foot and neck tattoos on a case-by-case basis. Every artist has the right to deny taking on a tattoo such as these if they are uncomfortable doing the piece.
How do I prepare for my upcoming appointment?
So, you’re getting your tattoo soon; it's time to prepare. Listed below are some steps to help you be ready for your appointment.
Be conscious of your physical hygiene! Please be well showered and as clean as possible for your appointment. Getting a tattoo is a very up close and personal process with our artists. Please make sure you smell presentable and are clean.
Dress appropriately. Make sure to wear loose clothing that can easily reveal the area that is to be tattooed. Keep in mind that tattoos on the torso, especially on the ribs may require you to be shirtless. If this makes you uncomfortable, consider wearing a button-down shirt that can be flipped to reveal the area while covering your front. We do have privacy dividers to help maintain a sense of privacy if requested.
Make sure to eat and are well hydrated prior to your appointment.
Do not drink alcohol or ingest any type of drug the night before or on the day of your appointment.
How do I prepare for my consultation?
Think about everything you want in advance and have some reference images to show the artist, giving a better sense of what you are hoping to get. It is okay if you don’t know exactly what you want; we are here to help. Talking to an artist is the first step to getting the perfect piece. All consultations are free of charge.
If you plan on setting an appointment date on the day of your consultation, have your deposit of $100 ready. We take cash, credit or debit cards.
At this time, Yant Studio is only doing video consultations.
Do you do cover ups?
We are happy to do cover-ups on a case-by-case basis. Come in for a consultation to discuss the design with one of our artists.
I need a touch up, how do I get one?
Before deciding if your tattoo needs retouching, please allow a minimum of one month for it to heal completely. Once that time has passed, email us directly with a picture of your tattoo. Your artist will respond and offer a time to perform the touch-up if deemed necessary.
The first scheduled touch-up is free of charge up to 1 year after the initial appointment, with the exception of finger, hand, face, foot and inner lip tattoos. Further touch-ups or alterations will require additional fees.
Touch ups are honored by their original artists. If the artist is no longer at Yant, you can contact them for the touch up.
